Hi Dan,
I’m a big fan of twitter even though I wasn’t about a year ago or maybe two. I’m not big on change and when twitter came out it was a big change to the way social networking were initially operating.
Actually if you knew where to look you would had seen me commenting on blogs saying howI wasn’t a big fan.
Today I have leaned to love and enjoy twitter much more then any other social network I use.
Thanks for linking us to your popular posts! I see that cold weather you had is starting to come to Ontario!

Brian. Twitter is a tough network to break into, I too struggled with it at first but was determined to succeed there. Many of my friends who I’ve introduced to twitter drop off soon after because they just can’t “get into it”. Twitter requires a lot of energy, time and hard work to be truly successful with. More snow again today, but it’s turning to rain now. Should be gone by Saturday! 🙂 haha, strange west coast weather.

Hi Daniel
I love Twitter and really enjoy scanning all my tweets to see if there are posts to go check out or messages for me to reply to. It isalso a valuable tool in getting my blog posts out there for others to see; especially when there are RT with comments.
Love the interaction and as I visit more blogs, I am increasing those I follow and also my follower numbers are going up too. Haven’t been in a rush to get thousands of followers. Find the rate at which the numbers are progressing is manageable for me.

Patricia, I’ve only just recently started to make a point of retweeting & adding my thoughts in brackets. I find this encourages people to click, and lets them know I actually read the post I’m taking the time to retweet. Twitter is a fun place to interact, and yet takes time and energy to engage with people there, I don’t have enough – and when I really start into it, it can become a major distraction! Oh well, I love it. 🙂

Surely I am a fan of Twitter. Twitter has allowed me to gain more readers (more traffic). Twitter is like a free advertising platform. Tweeting = is more advertising for free. The biggest advantage is that your tweet is seen by millions (I think).
Twitter has also allowed me to get more friends like you. Re tweeting, follow fridays etc. add to the engaging part of Twitter. Nice to that you have applied the Twitter landing page technique.
Anyway, Thanks for the article !

Interesting, a “free advertising platform” – you are right, if you get a tweet retweeted by some bigwigs it does have potential to reach a very large audience. However the life of a tweet is so short, that the vast majority just drop off into the twitterverse.

Hi Dan,
That’s a serious collection of Twitter-related articles mate. I checked out three or four and the tips you are giving are definitely worth checking out.
The first one is especially good. People should definitely learn that Twitter is not only the place where you promote your blog posts. It is also a place to build relationships and make friends. Engagement is a must.
The second article is also a good one for novices (and not only) with Twitter to check. I really hate seeing all of those hashtags. Even though they might be good for Twitter Search, they are really bad for my eyes.
Turning your Twitter followers into fans is another recommended read.
Great! Keep up the great work!

Twitter is a much better social network for real time communication with my readers and fans, I get 10x as much traffic from Twitter as Facebook and its easier to interact with people and reply.
Though I can say more in a facebook chat, I don’t feel the level of engagement with my fellow bloggers and readers like I do from Twitter.
