I’ll be honest. I’m always looking out for the next big thing. I’m hoping I won’t pass it by the way I did Facebook way back when it was just available to college students. I remember my buddy using it all the time. He spent all his time on it, but I thought it was just another MySpace that wouldn’t last. I don’t want to be wrong again.
I recently came across a company that I’m excited about. It’s not a social network, but it does seem to have “social” at it’s core. The company, Cobrain, just launched a website and the company is led by a team that’s been successful in the past. The CEO is Rob McGovern, the founder of Careerbuilder.com. Rob helped build Careerbuilder to over 400 employees. Careerbuilder.com is still one of the leading job websites.
Cobrain is currently in stealth mode, which I assume to mean an early alpha stage. It promises to be an online tool that leverages brainpower of groups of individuals to help them make consumer decisions. The company website promises to work with the best brands and businesses in the US and to be creating apps and software that will change the world.
Part of the “stealth” mode seems to be designed around helping increase the curiosity about the product and what it will do for those that have early access to it. I know that I’m always a sucker for a form that will grant me early access to an experience that others won’t have access to. Add words like “Big Data”, “Machine Learning”, and “Collective Intelligence” and I’m even more curious and ready to sign up.
Cobrain.com is accepting newsletter registrations if you want to be one of the first to get access to what they have in the works. I’m convinced that big data and machine learning will be the next big thing in the tech industry and I’ve signed up to get more information.
It’s still not clear exactly what the product will be or how Cobrain will change the world but the team behind it has had success in the past and seems to be working with all the right players. I’m excited to see what they have to offer and how it will change the way I make purchasing decisions.
Also, if you’re looking for work and you’re interested in these concepts, Cobrain is hiring. Check out the Cobrain Careers page here:http://cobrain.com/careers/
