For most, winter means cold months of winter coats and gloves, a bleak, brown landscape, biting winds and the clouds dumping ice or snow at it’s own will. None of which is friendly to growing your own fresh herbs or vegetables, right? Not so fast!

It’s easier than you might think to take advantage of winter’s sun ray’s with a windowsill garden – simple store-bought planters can be decorated to match your decor, or you can use recycled homemade containers.

If you can’t use your windowsills, don’t give up hope! Growing lights hanging over a tableful of planters is a good option – this can even be done in your basement. If you want to step up your indoor gardening, hydroponic kits can be helpful.
